High School FAQ's

What high school grades are offered for the 2025-2026 academic year?

We are excited to welcome 9th graders for the 2025-2026 school year. Expected launch for 10th grade is coming soon in the

2026-2027 academic year.

What college class will my freshman be taking?

“Analyzing and Interpreting Literature”

Critical thinking, the Socratic Method, and deductive reasoning skills will be highlighted in this course.   Students will have the option to enroll in an additional online college course through Modern States.  In class, we will be using  the “Teaching the Classics” methodology from Center for Lit.  In order to analyze and interpret literature; three main elements must be understood: Context, Structure, and Style.  The Socratic Method usage of intentional questioning rather than lectures allows for the skill of learning “how to think” rather than being told “what to think.”  While improving our literary abilities students will be interpreting various perspectives while looking to the Bible for truth.

Does the college class have an extra expense?

This will NOT add an additional expense and is not a required part of the class.

Is my child required to take the college credit CLEP exam?

No, they are not required to take the optional college class.  Students that choose not to take the CLEP exam will still find benefit from the information covered in class.

Is taking the PSAT or SAT required?

While taking the PSAT and SAT is not a requirement for this class, 9th and 10th graders will receive explicit instruction in how to do so.

No grades will be recorded or given at TPA. (For questions about transcripts, see below.)

Will you provide help with my child's high school transcript?

Yes. We will offer assistance to create a transcript for your child that best aligns with his or her chosen path after high school. We will also be happy to answer any questions as your child moves through high school and their required classes in regards to planning and curriculum. Parents with students enrolled in TPA will be given specific information regarding how each class may be noted on your child's transcript.
